For over twenty years, the doctor and staff at Van Gurp Dentistry have been partnering with their patients to keep their teeth and gums healthy and their smiles vibrant. Originally from Allentown, Pennsylvania, Dr. Richard Van Gurp is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry where he was a Dean’s List student and an inductee into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Fraternity – one of the highest honors given in dentistry.
Following a general practice residency at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut, Dr. Richard Van Gurp moved to the Charlotte area to practice the art and science of general dentistry.
While his formal training ended in Hartford, Dr. Richard Van Gurp’s commitment to the profession and his patients has made him not only a perpetual student but also a lecturer to his colleagues on dental technology he uses in his own practice. In addition, Dr. Richard Van Gurp has been published in a respected dental journal and has been interviewed on television. Dr. Van Gurp currently serves as a consultant to national and international dental companies so that they may improve on products to better serve patients.
Dr. Van Gurp’s passion for dentistry can be extended to the care that the entire Van Gurp Dentistry team provides for all of their patients – patients that include dentists, their spouses and other colleagues in the medical and dental profession. As child, Dr. Van Gurp remembers all too clearly his own dental experiences and vowed to treat his patients with kindness and compassion, providing the best that dentistry has to offer.
And while the doctor and staff at Van Gurp Dentistry feel blessed with success, they uses their skills to give back to the community by being involved with various organizations such as the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry’s “Give Back A Smile” Program, which assists the survivors of domestic violence in reclaiming their lives and their smiles by treating the dental injuries they sustained as a result of the abuse. |
